After almost 5 years, today was my last day with Premiere Global Services. I’ve been working there since 2005 when it was Netspoke, and during that time have had the privilege of working with some really great people.  My experiences there have had a  huge impact on how I approach my work, and as a result have grown considerably as a software developer these past few years.

So what's next?

Starting Monday I'll be joining Matrix Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer. It’s a much smaller company, where I'll have a better chance of making a difference. I'm also looking forward to being a part of a co-located team again after 4 years of working remotely.

Overall, I'm excited for the change.

I’m going to be co-presenting with Jeremy Jarrell on 3/9 at the Pittsburgh .Net User Group on the ideas behind ALT.Net and how to apply them to day to day work.

Topic Abstract

This will be the first part of a two part discussion concerning the SOLID principles.   This first session will discuss the ideas behind SOLID, as well as the Single Responsibility Principle and the Open/Closed Principle.

Jeremy Jarrell will be discussing the hows and the whys of Inversion of Control. This talk will focus on the ideas behind Inversion of Control, how to implement it using Dependency Injection, as well as the benefits that it can bring to your codebase. Jeremy will also introduce Castle Windsor as an Inversion of Control framework.
